Genetic Diversity

Plants have amazing adaptations to grow, defend themselves, and ensure they’re continued in future generations. Some of that diversity can be harnessed to improve the nutritional value of crops. We leverage the genetic diversity found in crops to find targets for plant breeders. These targets can be used to improve crops in new ways to better address the nutritional needs of our growing population.

How can we help?

  • Establishing and managing diversity panels and mapping populations

  • DNA/RNA extraction from plant and animal tissues

  • Conducting QTL and association analyses
