Analytical Chemistry
We use chromatography and mass spectrometry to separate and quantify molecules from plants, foods, and even animal tissues to better understand how changes in plant chemistry affect health. Our laboratory features a Waters Premiere UPLC-PDA-QDa which allows us to measure a wide range of compounds (carotenoids, polyphenols, etc.) either by their light-absorbing properties or mass to charge ratio. When we need extra sensitivity or resolution, we head downstairs to the CNRC’s Stable Isotope Core Facility where we have access to orbitraps and UHPLC-MS/MS systems.
How can we help?
High-throughput analytical method development for phytochemicals and their metabolites
UHPLC, UHPLC-MS/MS, and UHPLC-HRMS based quantification and compound identification
Untargeted metabolomics experimental design, screening, and analysis
